Hanna Thompson

Hanna Thompson, born on November first, nineteen eighty-three, is a distinguished American fencer known for her prowess in both foil and sabre disciplines. She was a vital member of the U.S. Women's foil team that clinched the silver medal at the 2008 Olympics, showcasing her exceptional skills on an international stage.

A proud graduate of Ohio State University in two thousand six, Thompson's collegiate career was marked by remarkable achievements. She earned the title of NCAA All-America four times and played a crucial role in leading the Buckeyes to victory in the two thousand four NCAA National Championship. Her individual performances were equally impressive, securing third place at the NCAA Championships in both two thousand two and two thousand four, while also contributing to four consecutive Midwest Championship titles.

Thompson's competitive spirit extended beyond collegiate fencing, as she represented six national teams and two junior squads. Notably, she earned a third-place team medal at the two thousand three Junior World Championships held in Trapani, Italy. In two thousand five, she triumphed at the Senior National Championship with the Rochester Fencing Club, helping her team secure five senior titles during her tenure.

In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Thompson has made significant contributions to the sport as a coach. She served as a volunteer assistant coach at Ohio State from two thousand five to two thousand seven and later took on the role of assistant coach at Duke University from two thousand nine to two thousand ten. Her commitment to education continued as she graduated from Golden Gate University law school and successfully passed the State Bar of California in two thousand thirteen, followed by the State Bar of Hawaii in two thousand fifteen.
