Hans Binder

Hans Binder, born on June twelfth, nineteen forty-eight, is a distinguished former Formula One driver from Austria. His career in motorsport began with notable success in the European Formula Ford Championship, which he won in nineteen seventy-two. This victory paved the way for his entry into the more competitive realm of Formula Two in nineteen seventy-six.

During his debut season in Formula Two, Binder made a significant mark by racing at both his home Grand Prix and the Japanese Grand Prix. The following year, he joined the Surtees team and also made appearances for ATS, showcasing his versatility and skill on the track. However, his journey in Formula One was not without challenges; in nineteen seventy-eight, he faced the disappointment of failing to qualify for his home Grand Prix with ATS, marking a turning point in his racing career.

After his time in Formula One, Binder stepped away from the racing scene and returned to his roots, becoming involved in the family business, Binderholz GmbH, which specializes in timber products. His legacy in motorsport continues through his family, as his brother Franz was also a racing driver, and his nephew René made waves in the IndyCar Series in two thousand eighteen.
