Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Harold Bride

Harold Bride, born on January eleventh, nineteen hundred, was a British merchant seaman and wireless operator renowned for his role during the tragic maiden voyage of the RMS Titanic. As the junior wireless operator, he worked alongside his senior colleague, Jack Phillips, to send distress signals after the ship struck an iceberg at eleven forty PM on April fourteenth, nineteen twelve.

In the chaos that ensued, Bride and Phillips tirelessly relayed CQD messages to nearby ships, coordinating the rescue efforts that ultimately saved many lives. They remained at their posts until the Titanic's power was nearly depleted. As the boat deck began to flood, Bride was swept off the ship but managed to cling to the upturned Collapsible B, where he awaited rescue.

Rescued by the RMS Carpathia the following morning, Bride, despite suffering injuries to both feet, assisted the Carpathia's wireless operator, Harold Cottam, in transmitting survivor lists and personal messages. His dedication to his duties during this harrowing event showcased his commitment to helping others in their time of need.

After the Titanic disaster, Bride continued his career as a wireless operator, serving in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve during World War I. Following the war, he briefly returned to the Marconi Company. However, he was reluctant to discuss his Titanic experience and eventually moved his family to Glasgow, where he lived until his passing in nineteen fifty-six.
