Harsha Walia

Harsha Walia is a prominent Canadian activist and writer, currently residing in Vancouver. With a deep commitment to social justice, she has actively participated in various initiatives, including No One Is Illegal, the February Fourteenth Women's Memorial March Committee, and the Downtown Eastside Women's Centre. Her involvement extends to several housing justice coalitions in the Downtown Eastside, where she has worked tirelessly to advocate for marginalized communities.

In 2020, Walia took on the role of Executive Director at the BC Civil Liberties Association (BCCLA), further solidifying her influence in the realm of civil rights. Her activism spans over a decade, focusing on critical issues such as immigration politics, Indigenous rights, and feminist, anti-racist, anti-statist, and anti-capitalist movements.
