Hashem Safieddine

Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Hashem Safieddine

Hashem Safieddine, born on May third, nineteen sixty-four, was a prominent Lebanese Shia cleric and a key figure in Hezbollah's leadership. He served as the head of the Executive Council of Hezbollah from two thousand one until his untimely death in twenty twenty-four. A maternal cousin of Hassan Nasrallah, Safieddine was often regarded as the organization's 'number two' for many years, playing a crucial role in its operations and strategies.

In two thousand seventeen, he was designated a Specially Designated Global Terrorist by the United States and labeled a terrorist by Saudi Arabia, reflecting his significant influence and the contentious nature of his political and military activities. His leadership was marked by a commitment to Hezbollah's objectives, which often placed him at the center of international scrutiny.

Following the tragic assassination of Hassan Nasrallah during a strike on Hezbollah's headquarters on September twenty-seventh, twenty twenty-four, Safieddine emerged as a likely successor to lead the organization. However, just days later, on October third, twenty twenty-four, he was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Dahieh, south of Beirut. His death was confirmed later that month, marking a significant turning point in the ongoing Israel-Hezbollah conflict.
