Hashim Amla

Hashim Amla, born on March 31, 1983, is a distinguished former international cricketer from South Africa, celebrated for his exceptional batting prowess. He captained the national team in both Test matches and One Day Internationals (ODIs), earning a reputation as one of the greatest batsmen in South African cricket history.

Amla is renowned for his right-handed batting style and holds the remarkable record for the second highest individual Test score by a South African, having scored three hundred and eleven not out against England at The Oval in July 2012. His ability to score centuries in ODIs against all Test-playing nations places him among an elite group of cricketers, being only the fourth to achieve this feat.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the sport, Amla was named one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 2013. He was a key figure in the South African batting lineup, alongside notable players such as Quinton de Kock, Faf du Plessis, and AB de Villiers, forming a formidable core that propelled the team to success.
