She made history as a member of the Inspiration4 mission, which was the first private spaceflight organized by billionaire Jared Isaacman. The mission launched on September sixteenth, twenty twenty-one, and successfully returned to Earth on September eighteenth, marking a significant milestone in space exploration.

Arceneaux's journey to space is particularly inspiring as she is a cancer survivor. After overcoming bone cancer, she became the first person in space with a prosthetic leg bone.
