Heath Ledger, born on April 4, 1979, was an Australian actor celebrated for his remarkable versatility across both independent and major studio films. Over the course of his career, he appeared in 20 films spanning a variety of genres, earning numerous accolades that included an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, and a Golden Globe Award.

Ledger began his acting journey in the 1990s with roles in Australian television and film productions before relocating to the United States in 1998 to pursue greater opportunities in film.
