Heberty

Heberty Fernandes de Andrade, known simply as Heberty, was born on August 29, 1988, in Brazil. He is a professional footballer who currently plays as a forward for Johor Darul Ta'zim in the Malaysia Super League. His career has been marked by significant achievements and a few controversies, particularly regarding his international eligibility.

In May 2015, Heberty made headlines when he controversially acquired Timorese citizenship, which allowed him to be eligible for international play with Timor-Leste. However, he never made his debut for the national team. His situation took a turn on January 19, 2017, when the Asian Football Confederation ruled that he, along with eleven other Brazilian players, was ineligible to represent Timor-Leste due to nationality falsification, leading to the country's ban from international competitions.

Heberty's prowess on the field has not gone unnoticed. He has been recognized as one of the top five players in Matchday 13 of the Thai League 1 by FOX Sports Asia. Over his career, he has made two hundred forty-nine appearances across four clubs in the Thai League 1, setting a record for the most appearances by a foreign player in the league and ranking among the top ten all-time for appearances.
