Heinz Lammerding

Heinz Lammerding, born on August twenty-seventh, nineteen oh five, was a German engineer who rose to infamy during the Nazi era as an SS officer. His military career was marked by his command of the SS Panzer Division Das Reich, a unit notorious for its involvement in heinous war crimes.

During World War II, Lammerding's division was responsible for the brutal massacres at Tulle and Oradour-sur-Glane in occupied France. These events led to the tragic loss of countless innocent lives, with estimates suggesting that approximately seven hundred fifty French civilians were murdered under his orders.

After the war, Lammerding faced justice in absentia for his actions, yet he managed to evade significant repercussions. He served a prison sentence in Germany but remained largely protected from further accountability for his war crimes.
