Helen of Zadar, also known as Helen the Glorious, was a prominent figure in the Kingdom of Croatia during the tenth century. Born into aristocracy, she became the queen consort by marrying King Michael Krešimir II. Their union lasted from nine hundred forty-six until nine hundred sixty-nine, a time characterized by peace, order, and significant growth within the kingdom.
Following the death of her husband, Helen took on the mantle of regent for her son, Stephen Držislav of Croatia. Her reign as regent lasted from nine hundred sixty-nine until her own death on eight October nine hundred seventy-six. During this period, she was instrumental in maintaining stability and governance in Croatia during her son's minority.
