Helen Stoumbos

Helen Stoumbos, born on October eighteenth, nineteen seventy, is a distinguished Canadian retired soccer player and television broadcaster. As a Center Midfield, she made history by scoring Canada's first-ever goal at the FIFA Women's World Cup during the nineteen ninety-five tournament. Her remarkable contributions to the sport were further recognized when she was part of the victorious Canadian team at the nineteen ninety-eight CONCACAF Women's Championship.

In two thousand eight, Stoumbos was inducted into the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame, a testament to her impact on the game. Following an injury that curtailed her playing career, she transitioned into television broadcasting, where she has made significant contributions to football coverage on networks such as Sportsnet, CBC Sports, and GolTV.

Stoumbos has also hosted and produced several sports-related television series, including Direct Kicks, Direct Kicks for Chicks, Slapstick TV: The Hockey Show, SportsTrek, and the recent We Live Soccer.
