Helena Jaczek

Helena Jaczek, born on November fifth, nineteen fifty, is a distinguished Canadian physician and politician. A dedicated member of the Liberal Party, she currently serves as the representative for the riding of Markham—Stouffville in the House of Commons. Her political journey has been marked by significant roles, including her tenure as the Minister of Public Services and Procurement and Receiver General for Canada.

In October twenty twenty-one, Jaczek was appointed as the Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) within the Canadian Cabinet. This role highlights her commitment to fostering economic growth and development in the region.

Before her foray into federal politics in twenty nineteen, Jaczek made her mark in provincial politics as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from two thousand seven to two thousand eighteen, representing Oak Ridges—Markham. During her time in the Ontario legislature, she held the position of Minister of Community and Social Services from two thousand fourteen until two thousand eighteen, and briefly served as Minister of Health and Long-Term Care in two thousand eighteen under the leadership of Kathleen Wynne.
