Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Henry Norris Russell

Henry Norris Russell, born on October twenty-fifth, eighteen seventy-seven, was a prominent American astronomer and astrophysicist whose contributions significantly advanced the field of stellar classification.

In nineteen ten, he collaborated with Ejnar Hertzsprung to create the Hertzsprung–Russell diagram, a pivotal tool that illustrates the relationship between the luminosity and temperature of stars, fundamentally shaping our understanding of stellar evolution.

Russell's innovative spirit continued into the early nineteen twenties when he partnered with Frederick Saunders to develop the Russell–Saunders coupling, also known as LS coupling, which provided deeper insights into atomic structure and spectral lines.
