Henry Rollins

Henry Lawrence Garfield, widely recognized as Henry Rollins, was born on February 13, 1961. He is a multifaceted American artist known for his contributions as a singer, writer, spoken word artist, actor, and comedian. Rollins first made his mark in the music scene as the frontman of the influential hardcore punk band Black Flag from 1981 to 1986, following his earlier stint with the short-lived band State of Alert in 1980.

After Black Flag disbanded, Rollins ventured into entrepreneurship by founding the record label and publishing company 2.13.61, which became a platform for his spoken word albums. He also formed the Rollins Band, which toured extensively from 1987 until 2003 and made a brief return in 2006, showcasing his dynamic performance style and lyrical prowess.

In addition to his musical endeavors, Rollins has hosted various radio shows, including Harmony in My Head on Indie 103, and television programs such as The Henry Rollins Show and 120 Minutes. His acting career includes notable roles in the series Sons of Anarchy and The Legend of Korra, as well as appearances in several films.

Beyond entertainment, Rollins is a passionate advocate for numerous political causes, championing issues such as gay rights, World Hunger Relief, and the West Memphis Three.
