Herbert Jasper

Herbert Jasper, born on July twenty-seventh, nineteen oh six, in La Grande, Oregon, was a distinguished Canadian physician and neuroscientist. He pursued his undergraduate studies at Reed College in Portland, Oregon, before earning his PhD in psychology from the University of Iowa in nineteen thirty-one. His academic journey continued in Europe, where he obtained a Doctor of Science degree from the University of Paris, focusing on neurobiology.

From nineteen forty-six to nineteen sixty-four, Jasper served as a professor of experimental neurology at the Montreal Neurological Institute, affiliated with McGill University. His collaboration with the renowned Wilder Penfield marked a significant chapter in his career, contributing to groundbreaking research in the field. Following this, he transitioned to the Université de Montréal, where he held the position of professor of neurophysiology from nineteen sixty-five to nineteen seventy-six.

Throughout his illustrious career, Jasper was an active member of several prestigious organizations, including the American Academy of Neurology and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He also contributed to the Canadian Neurological Society and the Royal Society of Medicine.
