Hesham Qandil

Hesham Qandil, born on September seventeenth, nineteen sixty-two, is an accomplished Egyptian engineer and politician who made history as the fifty-first prime minister of Egypt from two thousand twelve to two thousand thirteen. Appointed by President Mohamed Morsi on July twenty-fourth, two thousand twelve, Qandil was sworn in just days later on August second, marking a significant moment in Egyptian politics.

Before his tenure as prime minister, Qandil served as the Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation from two thousand eleven to two thousand twelve. His appointment as prime minister was notable, as he was considered a politically independent figure within the Morsi administration and was unexpectedly chosen for the role, despite not being a widely recognized candidate.

At the time of his appointment, Qandil was the youngest prime minister Egypt had seen since Gamal Abdel Nasser took office in nineteen fifty-four.
