Hind Kabawat, born in January nineteen seventy-four, is a prominent Syrian-Canadian peacebuilder who has made significant contributions to conflict resolution and social affairs. Currently serving as the minister of social and labour affairs in the Syrian transitional government since two thousand twenty-five, she has dedicated her career to fostering peace and dialogue in her homeland.
Before her current role, Kabawat was the Director of Interfaith Peacebuilding at George Mason University's Center for World Religions, Diplomacy, and Conflict Resolution. Her expertise in diplomacy and conflict resolution was further demonstrated during her tenure as the deputy head of the Syrian Negotiation Commission's Geneva Office, where she played a crucial role in advocating for a peaceful resolution to the Syrian conflict.
Following the fall of the Assad regime, Kabawat was appointed by the presidency of Syria to be a member of the Preparatory Committee for the Syrian National Dialogue Conference in February two thousand twenty-five.
