Hjalmar Andersen

Hjalmar Andersen, born on March twelfth, nineteen twenty-three, was a celebrated speed skater and rower from Norway. He etched his name in the annals of sports history by winning three gold medals at the 1952 Winter Olympic Games held in Oslo, making him the only athlete to achieve such a remarkable feat at those games.

Affectionately known as King Glad, Andersen was renowned not only for his athletic prowess but also for his infectious cheerful demeanor, which endeared him to fans across Norway. His legacy as one of the nation's most beloved sports figures is reflected in the four statues erected in his honor during his lifetime, located in Trondheim, Hamar, Rødøy, and outside Bislett Stadium in Oslo.
