Howard Gardner

Howard Gardner, born on July 11, 1943, is a distinguished American developmental psychologist and a revered university teacher. He holds the prestigious position of the John H. and Elisabeth A. Hobbs Research Professor of Cognition and Education at Harvard University, where he has made significant contributions to the field of education and cognitive development.

A founding member of Harvard Project Zero in 1967, Gardner has played a pivotal role in the research center's evolution, leading various initiatives from 1972 until 2023. His commitment to educational research is further exemplified by his co-directorship of The Good Project since 1995, which focuses on improving education and fostering ethical practices in various fields.

Gardner is perhaps best known for his groundbreaking theory of multiple intelligences, which he articulated in his influential 1983 book, Frames of Mind: The Theory of Multiple Intelligences. This work has not only shaped educational practices but has also been translated into over thirty languages, reflecting its global impact.

After retiring from teaching in 2019, Gardner continued to share his insights with the world.
