Howard Georgi

Howard Georgi, born on January sixth, nineteen forty-seven, is a distinguished American theoretical physicist renowned for his contributions to the field of physics. He holds the prestigious title of Mallinckrodt Professor of Physics and Harvard College Professor at Harvard University, where he also serves as the director of undergraduate studies in physics.

Throughout his career, Georgi has made significant strides in the realm of Grand Unification and gauge coupling unification, particularly within the SU(5) and SO(10) groups. His work in these areas has been influential, notably through the Georgi–Glashow model, which has shaped the understanding of particle physics.

From nineteen ninety-eight to two thousand eighteen, Georgi, alongside his wife Ann Blake Georgi, played a vital role in the academic community as co-master and later faculty dean of Leverett House.
