Howard Zinn

Howard Zinn, born on August twenty-fourth, nineteen twenty-two, was a prominent American historian, playwright, and political scientist. A veteran of World War II, Zinn dedicated his life to academia and activism, serving as the chair of the history and social sciences department at Spelman College and later as a political science professor at Boston University.

Throughout his illustrious career, Zinn authored over twenty books, with his most notable work being the best-selling 'A People's History of the United States,' published in nineteen eighty. This influential text reshaped the narrative of American history, emphasizing the perspectives of marginalized groups. In two thousand seven, he adapted this work for younger audiences with 'A Young People's History of the United States.'

His memoir, 'You Can't Be Neutral on a Moving Train,' published in nineteen ninety-four, encapsulated his philosophy and activism. He passed away from a heart attack in two thousand ten at the age of eighty-seven, leaving behind a legacy of advocacy and scholarship.
