Hubert Minnis

Hubert Minnis, born on April sixteenth, nineteen fifty-four, is a prominent Bahamian politician and physician who made significant contributions to the political landscape of The Bahamas. He served as the Prime Minister from May two thousand seventeen until September sixteenth, two thousand twenty-one, leading the nation through a pivotal period in its history.

As a member of the Free National Movement, the former governing party, Minnis represented the New Providence constituency of Killarney in Parliament. His political journey began with his election to the legislature in the two thousand seven elections, where he succeeded the Rt Hon. Hubert Ingraham as party leader after the party's defeat in the two thousand twelve elections.

Despite facing challenges, including his dismissal from the leadership role in December two thousand sixteen, Minnis demonstrated resilience by regaining the position in April two thousand seventeen. His leadership was instrumental in the party's victory in the general elections held on May tenth, two thousand seventeen, marking a significant comeback for the Free National Movement.
