Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Huni

Huni, an ancient Egyptian king, holds the distinction of being the last pharaoh of the Third Dynasty during the Old Kingdom period. His reign, which is believed to have lasted for twenty-four years, concluded around two thousand six hundred thirteen BC. Despite his significant position in history, much about Huni remains shrouded in mystery.

While Huni's chronological placement as the final ruler of the Third Dynasty is well-established, the succession of kings during this period is less clear. Scholars have debated the identity under which the ancient historian Manetho recorded him in his work Aegyptiacae, with the name Aches being a likely candidate according to Winfried Barta's research.

Many Egyptologists suggest that Huni was the father and direct predecessor of King Sneferu, although this assertion is met with skepticism by some scholars. Huni's legacy is particularly intriguing; he is remembered in Egyptian traditions, yet very few artifacts, documents, or monuments from his reign have survived to provide further insight into his rule.
