Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Husni al-Za'im

Husni al-Za'im, born in January nineteen ninety-seven, was a prominent Syrian Kurdish military officer who rose to prominence as the head of state of Syria in nineteen forty-nine. His military career began in the Ottoman Army, where he honed his skills before transitioning to the French Army following the establishment of the French mandate over Syria after the First World War.

With the advent of the newly-independent Syrian Republic, al-Za'im became an officer in the Syrian Army. His military acumen was recognized during the early stages of the nineteen forty-eight Arab-Israeli War, where he was appointed Chief of Staff after the initial setbacks faced by Abdullah Atfeh's forces. The defeat of the Arab League forces during this conflict significantly eroded public confidence in Syria's tumultuous parliamentary democracy.

Seizing the opportunity presented by the political instability, al-Za'im orchestrated a coup in nineteen forty-nine, establishing himself as the head of state. However, his rule was short-lived, as he was tried and executed in August of the same year by former allies who had conspired with him in the coup. His regime is also marked by the infamous execution of Lebanese intellectual Antoun Saadeh in July nineteen forty-nine, a decision that further solidified his controversial legacy.
