Hussein Saeed, born on January twenty-first, nineteen fifty-eight, is a distinguished former Iraqi footballer who made his mark as a forward. His remarkable career is highlighted by his tenure as the president of the Iraq Football Association and his impressive record of seventy-eight international goals, placing him twelfth among the world's top international goal scorers.

Regarded as one of the finest Iraqi players of the twentieth century, alongside Ahmed Radhi, Saeed's legacy extends beyond his goal-scoring prowess. He is also recognized in the twenty-fifth position on Asia's Best Players of the Century list, a testament to his impact on the sport.

Saeed's professional journey began at the tender age of seventeen when he joined the Iraq national varsity football team, where he quickly showcased his talent by winning a gold medal at the 1975 Arab Schools Games. In the same year, he signed with Al-Jamiea, later known as Al-Talaba, where he dedicated fifteen years of his career, securing three league titles and earning the top goalscorer award in three seasons.
