Ibrahim al-Jaafari

Ibrahim al-Jaafari, born on March 25, 1947, is a prominent Iraqi politician and diplomat known for his significant contributions to the political landscape of Iraq. He served as the Prime Minister of Iraq during the Iraqi Transitional Government from 2005 to 2006, a pivotal period following the January 2005 elections that marked a new chapter in the country's governance.

Before his tenure as Prime Minister, al-Jaafari held the position of one of the two vice presidents of Iraq under the Iraqi Interim Government from 2004 to 2005. His political journey is closely associated with the Islamic Dawa Party, where he served as the main spokesman, advocating for the party's vision and policies.

In addition to his role as Prime Minister, al-Jaafari was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2014 to 2018, further solidifying his influence in shaping Iraq's foreign relations. Notably, he withdrew his nomination for the premiership in the permanent government, demonstrating his strategic approach to leadership and governance.
