Ignatius Suharyo Hardjoatmodjo, born on July ninth, nineteen fifty, is a prominent Indonesian ecclesiastical prelate of the Catholic Church. He has held the esteemed position of Archbishop of Jakarta since June twenty-nine, two thousand ten, succeeding Cardinal Julius Darmaatmadja, S.J. His leadership extends beyond Jakarta, as he also serves as the Military Ordinary of Indonesia.

Before his current role, Archbishop Suharyo was the Coadjutor Archbishop of Jakarta and previously held the title of Archbishop of Semarang from nineteen ninety-seven to two thousand nine. His contributions to the Church have been significant, and he is widely recognized as Archbishop Suharyo.

In addition to his archiepiscopal duties, he has been the President of the Indonesian Bishops' Conference since November fifteen, two thousand twelve, taking over from Bishop Martinus Dogma Situmorang, OFM.Cap. His influence in the Catholic Church was further solidified when Pope Francis appointed him as a cardinal on October fifth, two thousand nineteen.

Archbishop Suharyo made history as the only Indonesian cardinal to participate as a cardinal elector in the two thousand twenty-five papal conclave, which followed the passing of Pope Francis and ultimately led to the election of Pope Leo XIV.
