Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Ignaz von Rudhart

Ignaz von Rudhart, born on March eleventh, eighteen ninety, was a distinguished Bavarian scholar and public servant. He earned his doctorate in law from the University of Munich and made significant contributions to the field, authoring two notable books, including a comprehensive statistical survey of the Bavarian Kingdom. His expertise and dedication led him to serve as a member of the Council of State before his pivotal appointment as Prime Minister of Greece.

In February eighteen thirty-seven, von Rudhart arrived in Athens, where he was met with skepticism by the English legate Lyons, a supporter of his predecessor, von Armansperg. This initial reception set the stage for a tumultuous tenure, as von Rudhart quickly found himself at odds with King Otto, who favored an absolute monarchy and resisted the notion of a powerful chief minister.

Throughout his time in office, von Rudhart faced numerous clashes with the king, compounded by his unpopularity with Queen Amalia. His efforts to assert the role of the prime minister were met with resistance, ultimately leading to his resignation after a mere ten months in office. Following his departure, King Otto assumed the role of President of the Privy Council until the imposition of a constitution during the Revolution of September third, eighteen forty-three.
