Igor Matovič

Igor Matovič, born on May eleventh, nineteen seventy-three, in Trnava, Slovakia, is a prominent politician and former businessman. He pursued his education at Comenius University before venturing into the publishing industry. His political career began in earnest when he was elected to the National Council during the two thousand ten Slovak parliamentary election, representing the Freedom and Solidarity party.

In two thousand eleven, Matovič founded the Ordinary People (Obyčajní ľudia) movement, which championed an anti-corruption agenda and aligned itself with the centre-right. His approach to politics has often included high-profile publicity stunts aimed at exposing alleged corruption, particularly concerning parliamentary privileges and bribery.

Matovič's political journey reached a significant milestone in the two thousand twenty Slovak parliamentary election, where his party secured enough seats to form a coalition government with three other centrist and right-wing parties. Following the approval of his Cabinet choices by President Zuzana Čaputová, he was appointed Prime Minister on March twenty-first, two thousand twenty. However, he resigned on April first, two thousand twenty-one, to take on the roles of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance in Eduard Heger's cabinet.

As of two thousand twenty-two, Igor Matovič has become a polarizing figure in Slovak politics, with a staggering ninety-one percent distrust score among the public, marking him as the most distrusted political figure in Slovakia.
