İlber Ortaylı

İlber Ortaylı, born on May twenty-first, nineteen forty-seven, is a distinguished Turkish historian and legal scholar of Crimean Tatar descent. His academic journey has seen him impart knowledge at prestigious institutions such as Galatasaray University in Istanbul, as well as Ankara University and Bilkent University in Ankara.

In two thousand five, Ortaylı took on the significant role of director at the Topkapı Museum in Istanbul, a position he held until his retirement in two thousand twelve. His tenure at the museum further solidified his reputation as a leading figure in the field of history.
