Imre Garaba

Imre Garaba, born on July twenty-ninth, nineteen fifty-eight, is a distinguished figure in Hungarian football, celebrated for his dual roles as a player and a coach. Known for his tenacity on the field, he made his debut for the Hungary national team in nineteen eighty, earning a remarkable eighty-two caps and scoring three goals until his international career concluded in nineteen ninety-one.

Garaba represented Hungary in two FIFA World Cups, in nineteen eighty-two and nineteen eighty-six, where the team faced challenges and did not advance past the group stage. His contributions to the sport were particularly notable during his time with Budapest Honvéd, where he became a fan favorite due to his passionate and combative style of play, despite being a defender.

Throughout his career, Garaba played a pivotal role in leading Budapest Honvéd to victory in the Hungarian Championship in nineteen eighty, as well as in nineteen eighty-four, nineteen eighty-five, and nineteen eighty-six. His ability to score crucial goals added to his reputation as a key player for both his club and the national team.

After his tenure with Honvéd, he continued his career in France with Rennes and in Belgium with Charleroi, before returning to Hungary to finish his playing days with BVSC Budapest. Following his retirement from playing, he also took on managerial responsibilities at BVSC Budapest.
