India Sherret

India Sherret, born on May 29, 1996, is a talented Canadian freestyle skier renowned for her prowess in ski cross. Her journey in skiing began with the Kimberley alpine team, but at the age of fourteen, she transitioned to the ski cross discipline, where she quickly made a name for herself.

In 2015, Sherret achieved a significant milestone by winning the FIS Freestyle Junior World Ski Championships in women's ski cross. However, her career faced challenges when she had to take a break the following season to recover from bulimia nervosa, a condition she began battling at the age of fifteen.

On January 13, 2018, Sherret celebrated a remarkable achievement by securing a bronze medal at a FIS World Cup event in Idre, Sweden, marking her first podium finish at a senior World Cup event. She proudly represented Canada at the 2018 Winter Olympics, where she faced adversity during the women's ski cross event, suffering injuries from a crash that required hospitalization and a brace for recovery.

Despite the setbacks, Sherret remained optimistic about her future in the sport, expressing her desire to compete in the 2022 Winter Olympics. By 2025, she demonstrated her resilience and skill by finishing as the top Canadian with a fifth-place overall finish at the World Cup in Craigleth.
