This saga recounts the last Viking campaign in the Caspian Sea, highlighting the challenges faced by the Rus' as they navigated through territories once dominated by the Volga Bulgars and the Khazars.

During his journey, Ingvar and his crew participated in the pivotal Battle of Sasireti in one thousand forty-two, a fierce confrontation between the Georgians and the Byzantines.
