Inzamam-ul-Haq

Syed Inzamam-ul-Haq, born on March 3, 1970, is a celebrated former cricketer and captain of the Pakistan national cricket team. Known affectionately as Inzi, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in Pakistan's cricketing history and one of the finest middle-order batsmen globally. His illustrious career includes being a pivotal member of the squad that clinched the 1992 Cricket World Cup, marking a significant milestone in Pakistan's cricketing journey.

Inzamam's prowess with the bat is evident as he stands as the leading run scorer for Pakistan in one-day internationals and ranks as the third-highest run scorer in Test cricket for the nation. Notably, he is the only Pakistani batsman to have amassed twenty thousand runs in the international arena. His leadership skills were showcased during his tenure as captain from 2003 to 2007, a period that saw him navigate the team through various challenges, including the 2007 Cricket World Cup.

After retiring from international cricket in 2007, Inzamam transitioned to the Indian Cricket League, where he captained the Hyderabad Heroes and later the Lahore Badshahs, a team comprised entirely of Pakistani players. His influence extends beyond the cricket field, as he is a prominent member of the Tablighi Jamaat, an Islamic missionary organization, and continues to be a significant figure in Pakistan cricket.

In April 2016, he took on the role of chief selector for the Pakistan national cricket team, a position he held until his resignation in 2023. However, his commitment to the sport saw him return to this role in August 2023, further solidifying his legacy in the cricketing world.
