Ioannis Malokinis

Ioannis Malokinis, born in 1880, was a notable Greek swimmer hailing from the picturesque island of Spetses. His athletic prowess was showcased at the inaugural modern Olympic Games held in Athens in 1896, where he made a significant mark in the world of competitive swimming.

Competing in the unique 100 metres freestyle for sailors event, Malokinis demonstrated his skills and determination. He emerged victorious among three competitors, clocking an impressive time of 2:20.4. This achievement not only highlighted his talent but also placed him in the annals of Olympic history.
