Irakli Kobakhidze, born on September twenty-fifth, nineteen seventy-eight, is a prominent Georgian politician currently serving as the sixteenth Prime Minister of Georgia since two thousand twenty-four. He has also held the position of chairman of the Georgian Dream party since two thousand twenty-five, having previously led the party from two thousand twenty-one to two thousand twenty-four.
A member of the Georgian Parliament from two thousand sixteen to two thousand twenty-four, Kobakhidze was the sixth chairman of the Parliament of Georgia from two thousand sixteen to two thousand nineteen. His political career also includes serving as the vice-president of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe from two thousand twenty to two thousand twenty-two. Before entering politics, he was a professor at Tbilisi State University and worked with various Western-funded non-governmental organizations.
