Irina Khazova

Irina Khazova, born on March 20, 1984, is a notable Russian cross-country skier whose competitive journey spanned from 2003 to 2007. During this period, she showcased her talent on the international stage, but her career faced a significant setback when she was suspended for two years due to doping violations.

After her suspension, Khazova made a remarkable comeback, returning to the sport in excellent form for the 2009–10 Olympic season. Her resilience paid off when she clinched a bronze medal in the women's team sprint event at the 2010 Winter Olympics held in Vancouver, marking a high point in her athletic career.

In addition to her Olympic success, Khazova achieved her best World Cup finish with a commendable second place in a ten-kilometer classic race at Ruka, Kuusamo, Finland, on November 29, 2009. This performance further solidified her status as a competitive athlete in the world of cross-country skiing.

Khazova also represented Russia at the 2007 World Championships in Sapporo, where she finished twenty-fourth in the challenging 7.5 km + 7.5 km double pursuit event.
