Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Isabella Ochichi

Isabella Ochichi, born on October twenty-eighth, nineteen seventy-nine, is a renowned Kenyan marathon and long-distance runner. She gained international acclaim when she secured a silver medal in the women's 5,000 meter race at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, finishing with a remarkable time of fourteen minutes and forty-eight point nineteen seconds, just two point five seconds behind Ethiopia's Meseret Defar.

Her athletic journey began at the young age of seventeen when she competed in her first overseas races in France in nineteen ninety-seven. By two thousand one, she represented Kenya at the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships, finishing eighth. Over the years, she participated in the IAAF World Cross Country Championships from two thousand two to two thousand six, achieving notable success with bronze medals in the short race in both two thousand two and two thousand five.

In March two thousand six, Ochichi triumphed at the Commonwealth Games, winning the same distance event. Later that year, she earned a silver medal in the team competition at the World Cross Country Championships, finishing tenth in the short race. Despite being at the peak of her career, she made the surprising decision to retire from professional running in two thousand six.

After a seven-year hiatus, Ochichi made a triumphant return to competition in two thousand thirteen. Her comeback at the Prague Half Marathon saw her finish third with a time of one hour, nine minutes, and twenty-one seconds, one of her fastest performances. She followed this success by winning the Göteborgsvarvet half marathon in May and debuted in the marathon distance that October, achieving a commendable fifth place at the Amsterdam Marathon with a personal best of two hours, thirty-one minutes, and thirty-eight seconds.

Isabella is married to fellow runner David Maina, who also competes in road racing. She is managed by Gwenaël Vigot and coached by Veronique Billat, continuing to inspire many with her remarkable journey in athletics.
