Ishmael Beah

Ishmael Beah, born on December twenty-third, nineteen eighty, is a prominent Sierra Leonean author and human rights activist. He gained international recognition with his powerful memoir, A Long Way Gone, which chronicles his harrowing experiences as a child soldier during the civil war in Sierra Leone.

In addition to his memoir, Beah has continued to make significant contributions to literature. His novel, Radiance of Tomorrow, was published in January two thousand fourteen, showcasing his storytelling prowess and deep understanding of the human condition.

Most recently, in April two thousand twenty, he released his novel Little Family, further establishing his voice in contemporary literature. Through his works, Beah not only shares his personal journey but also advocates for the rights of children and the importance of peace.
