Islam Slimani

Islam Slimani, born on June 18, 1988, is a distinguished Algerian professional footballer renowned for his role as a striker. He holds the prestigious title of being the all-time top goalscorer for the Algeria national team, a testament to his exceptional talent and dedication on the field.

Beginning his career in Algeria, Slimani showcased his skills with JSM Chéraga and CR Belouizdad before making a significant move to Europe in 2013 by signing with Sporting CP. During his three seasons in Portugal, he consistently found the back of the net, contributing to his team's triumph in the Taça de Portugal in 2015.

In 2016, Slimani made headlines with a club record transfer to Leicester City for a fee of twenty-eight million pounds. After a season and a half with the Foxes, he experienced a series of loan spells at Newcastle United, Fenerbahçe, and Monaco. In 2021, he joined Lyon, and a year later, he returned briefly to Sporting CP before embarking on short stints with Brest, Anderlecht, Coritiba, and Mechelen. In 2024, he made a return to Algeria with CR Belouizdad, followed by a loan to Westerlo in 2025.
