Ivana Španović, born on May 10, 1990, is a distinguished Serbian long jumper and triple jumper, celebrated for her remarkable achievements in athletics. As of 2023, she holds the title of World Champion and has been honored as a two-time World indoor champion, a two-time European champion, and a three-time European indoor champion. Her impressive career is further highlighted by five Diamond League Trophy victories, solidifying her status as one of the greatest female long jumpers in history.
Španović made history in 2013 by becoming the first Serbian track and field athlete to win a medal at the World Championships in Athletics. Her groundbreaking accomplishments continued in 2018 when she secured the first senior gold medal for Serbia at the World Indoor Championships. In 2023, she achieved another milestone by winning the first senior gold medal for Serbia at the World Outdoor Championship, showcasing her exceptional talent and dedication to the sport.
Throughout her fifteen-year career, Ivana has consistently excelled, claiming both outdoor and indoor European and World titles. She holds the Serbian record in the long jump for both indoor and outdoor events, as well as the national indoor record in the 60 meters and the pentathlon.
