J. Michel Doyon

J. Michel Doyon, born on April 22, 1943, is a distinguished Canadian lawyer, historian, and author. His extensive career has seen him contribute significantly to the legal and historical landscape of Quebec.

In a notable chapter of his career, Doyon served as the 29th lieutenant governor of Quebec, a position he assumed on September 24, 2015. His tenure in this esteemed role lasted until January 25, 2024, when he was succeeded by Manon Jeannotte.

Prior to his appointment as lieutenant governor, Doyon held the prestigious title of the 144th head of the Bar of Quebec during the 2007–2008 term. His leadership in this capacity underscored his commitment to the legal profession and the advancement of justice in Quebec.
