Jack Lew

Jack Lew, born on August twenty-ninth, nineteen fifty-five, is a distinguished American attorney and diplomat. He made history by serving as the twenty-eighth United States ambassador to Israel from two thousand twenty-three to two thousand twenty-five. His extensive career in public service includes notable roles such as the seventy-sixth United States Secretary of the Treasury from two thousand thirteen to two thousand seventeen.

A member of the Democratic Party, Lew's influence in the White House is marked by his tenure as the twenty-fifth Chief of Staff from two thousand twelve to two thousand thirteen. He also held the position of Director of the Office of Management and Budget during both the Clinton and Obama administrations, showcasing his expertise in fiscal management.

During the Obama administration, Lew served as the first Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources from two thousand nine to two thousand ten. He returned to the Office of Management and Budget from two thousand ten to two thousand twelve, before stepping into the Chief of Staff role for the remainder of President Barack Obama’s first term.

On January tenth, two thousand thirteen, Lew was nominated to succeed retiring Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner. He was confirmed by the Senate on February twenty-seventh, two thousand thirteen, and sworn in the following day, serving until the end of the Obama administration. Since two thousand seventeen, he has been a managing partner at Lindsay Goldberg, a private equity firm based in New York City, and currently shares his knowledge as a visiting professor at the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University.
