Jacob Kiplimo

Jacob Kiplimo, born on November fourteenth, two thousand, is a distinguished Ugandan long-distance runner known for his remarkable achievements on the global stage. He has made a name for himself as a four-time World Cross Country champion, clinching the junior title in 2017 and securing senior victories in 2023, 2024, and 2026.

His prowess extends to the Olympic Games, where he represented Uganda at the age of fifteen during the 2016 Rio Olympics, becoming the youngest Olympian from his country. Kiplimo has also earned bronze medals in the 10,000 meters at both the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2022 World Athletics Championships, showcasing his versatility and endurance.

In addition to his Olympic success, Kiplimo is a gold medalist in the 5000 meters and 10,000 meters at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and triumphed in the 2020 World Half Marathon. His personal bests of twelve minutes and forty seconds in the 5000 meters and twenty-six minutes and thirty-three seconds in the 10,000 meters rank him among the top ten all-time performers in these events.

On February sixteenth, twenty twenty-five, Kiplimo recorded an astonishing time of fifty-six minutes and forty-two seconds in the Barcelona Half Marathon, a performance that broke the official world record by forty-eight seconds. However, this remarkable achievement was not ratified by World Athletics due to the use of an illegal lead pace car.
