James Mangold

James Mangold, born on December 16, 1963, is a distinguished American film director, producer, and screenwriter, celebrated for his remarkable versatility across various genres. He made his directorial debut with the film Heavy in 1995, which set the stage for a prolific career in Hollywood.

His early works, including Cop Land (1997) and Girl, Interrupted (1999), garnered critical acclaim, but it was his 2005 film Walk the Line that truly showcased his talent, earning him widespread recognition. Mangold continued to impress audiences with films like Identity (2003), 3:10 to Yuma (2007), and the action-comedy Knight and Day (2010). He also made significant contributions to the X-Men franchise with The Wolverine (2013) and Logan (2017), the latter earning him an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.

In 2019, Mangold directed the sports drama Ford v Ferrari, which received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Picture. His recent work includes directing and co-writing Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023), the fifth installment in the iconic Indiana Jones series.
