James Rodríguez

James Rodríguez, born on July 12, 1991, is a distinguished Colombian professional footballer who excels as an attacking midfielder or winger. Currently, he plays for Major League Soccer club Minnesota United and proudly captains the Colombia national team. Widely regarded as one of the finest Colombian players in history, Rodríguez is celebrated for his exceptional technique, vision, and playmaking abilities, often drawing comparisons to the legendary Carlos Valderrama.

Rodríguez began his football journey at Envigado before making a name for himself at Banfield in Argentina. His European career took off at Porto, where he enjoyed a successful three-year stint, collecting numerous trophies and individual accolades. In 2014, he made headlines by transferring from AS Monaco to Real Madrid for a staggering transfer fee of sixty-three million pounds, making him the most expensive Colombian player at that time. His debut season at Real Madrid was remarkable, earning him a spot in the La Liga Team of the Season and the title of La Liga Best Midfielder.

In 2017, he transitioned to Bayern Munich on a two-year loan deal, further solidifying his reputation in European football. After a season with Everton in the Premier League, he ventured to Qatar's Al-Rayyan and then to Greece's Olympiacos in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
