Pushor's journey in professional hockey began when he was drafted thirty-second overall in the second round of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft by the Detroit Red Wings. Over the course of his career, he played for several teams, including the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Dallas Stars, Columbus Blue Jackets, Pittsburgh Penguins, and New York Rangers. His tenure in the NHL was marked by notable achievements, including winning three Stanley Cup championships.

His first championship came in nineteen ninety-seven with the Red Wings, where he played a pivotal role as a player. Later, as an executive with the Lightning, he celebrated additional victories in twenty twenty and twenty twenty-one, showcasing his versatility and deep understanding of the game.

In two thousand three, Pushor signed a try-out contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs after his time with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Unfortunately, he did not make the final roster. He ultimately retired during the two thousand six to two thousand seven season, leaving the Syracuse Crunch mid-season, marking the end of an impactful playing career.
