Jan Lievens

Jan Lievens, born on October twenty-fourth, sixteen oh seven, was a prominent figure in the Dutch Golden Age of painting. He is often remembered for his close association with Rembrandt, who was a year his senior. Both artists hailed from Leiden and began their artistic journeys under the tutelage of Pieter Lastman in Amsterdam, where they shared a studio for approximately five years until the year sixteen thirty-one.
