Jana Tichá

Jana Tichá, born on May sixth, nineteen sixty-five, is a prominent Czech astronomer renowned for her significant contributions to the field of minor planet discovery. She pursued her studies at the University of Economics in Prague, where she graduated in nineteen eighty-seven. Her career took a pivotal turn in nineteen ninety-two when she was appointed as the director of the Kleť Observatory, a position that has allowed her to lead groundbreaking research in astronomy.

Specializing in the discovery of asteroids and comets, particularly near-Earth objects, Tichá has made remarkable strides in her field. The Minor Planet Center recognizes her for the discovery of one hundred four numbered minor planets between nineteen ninety-five and two thousand three. Her expertise extends beyond research; she serves as the chair of the International Astronomical Union's Committee on Small Body Nomenclature, which plays a crucial role in the naming of asteroids.
